PIAA Soccer Play-in Game Results From Wednesday

Despite their loss in WPIAL semifinals Thomas Jefferson boys are still moving on to PIAA Playoffs next week along with all of Wednesday night's winners.

Despite their loss in WPIAL semifinals Thomas Jefferson boys are still moving on to PIAA Playoffs next week along with all of Wednesday night’s winners.


On Wdenesday, five games were played among WPIAL teams vying for spots in the PIAA State playoffs.   here are the results.  The winners will join the teams playing in the WPIAL Finals in PIAA tournament which begins next week.
Boys AAA
Seneca Valley def Kiski Area 4-0
Boys A
Sewickley Academy def Greensburg Central Catholic 5-0
*note – due to having 4 allocations in PIAA due to larger number of teams in Classification, Boys AA WPIAL Semifinal losers South Park and Thomas Jefferson both advance to PIAA playoffs.  
Girls AAA

Girls AA
Cenral Valley def South Fayette 2-0

For more information on the PIAA soccer playoffs, you can visit the PIAA Soccer Championships web page that has the predetermined bracket seedings for each Classification.  Please be aware that the WPIAL is “District 7” in PIAA.

John has covered sports for Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, DK Pittsburgh Sports, Pittsburgh Sports Report, has served as color commentator on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC broadcasts, and worked with OPTA Stats and broadcast teams for US Open Cup and International Champions Cup matches held in the US. Krysinsky also served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Point Park University, where he led the Pioneers to the first-ever winning seasons and playoff berths (1996-98); head coach of North Catholic boys (2007-08), associate head coach of Shady Side Academy boys (2009-2014).
