Sewickley Academy Captures PIAA Soccer Crown With Convincing 3-0 Win

Sewickley Academy became the first WPIAL team to earn a PIAA title this weekend, with a convincing 3-0 win over East Juniata on Friday at HersheyPark Stadium in the boys soccer PIAA Class A Final.
Juniors Brennan Doyle and Tommy Lasorda scored in the first half, and senior Matt Teitelbaum added a goal early in the second as the Panthers proved to be too much for District 4 champs, East Juniata.
It was Sewickley Academy’s fourth Class A boys soccer state title, and it’s second in the past three years.
For the complete story, here’s the recap in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review by Karen Price.
The remaining WPIAL teams, South Park boys, Upper St. Clair girls and Seneca Valley boys will play in their respective PIAA title games on Saturday.  .
