Emma Hasco scored twice to lead Upper St. Clair girls to theirfirst-ever PIAA title

It was a sweet day in Hershey for Emma Hasco and Upper St. Clair girls soccer team, as they captured the Class AAA PIAA title for first time in school history. Hasco scored twice, including the game winner in the 73rd minute of a deadlocked match to beat Central Bucks East, 2-1.
The win capped a remarkable run through the PIAA playoffs for Upper St. Clair. A week ago in the Quarterfinals, the Panthers needed a fortunate bounce very late in the second OT from a deep throw-in to beat Central Bucks South. Then they had to find a way to beat an undefeated Norwin team that they had lost to 3-0 in the WPIAL Finals, but scored in the first thirty seconds to stun the Knights in the PIAA semifinals.  On Saturday, they withstood lots of pressure from unbeaten Central Bucks East, riding the talents of Penn State-bound Hasco, who also scored in the first half with a 25-yard strike to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.
SENECA VALLEY, SOUTH PARK BOYS COME UP SHORT
The other two WPIAL teams playing for PIAA titles on Saturday, Seneca Valley and South Park boys teams ran into a pair of undefeated teams that proved to be too much.
South Park gave up two goals early, and after things opened up, as they tried to cut the lead, the Eagles surrendered a pair of second half goals too, losing to Lewisburg 4-0 in the Class AA Boys Final. Lewisburg won the PIAA title without giving up a goal in the playoffs.
Seneca Valley made its first-ever trip to the Boys Class AAA playoffs, and after three close wins, ran into a strong Central Bucks East team, losing 2-0.   CBE scored early, and it’s defense limited Seneca Valley’s opportunities to complete an undefeated season.
