VIDEO: Hounds Loss Marred By Romeo Parkes Red Card and Meltdown

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds lost to the New York Red Bulls II 3-1 on Saturday at Highmark Stadium in a game that was marred by an incident late in the second half as the team’s leading scorer Romeo Parkes was sent off with a red card after a scuffle between the teams.
Then, Parkes kicked a Red Bulls II’s Karl Ouimette from behind.
Parkes has to be restrained as he was sent off the field, while Ouimette lay on the ground until he was carted off on a stretcher.

Riverhounds Head Coach Mark Steffens after the game could not hold back his disappointment.
“It’s an embarrassing situation,” said Steffens.
“I would anticipate that there will be suspension coming from USL and we’ll be taking action as well.”
“This was way out of left field for him. He’s been a quality player for us and I didn’t see this coming.,
Even former Riverhounds leading scorer in 2015, and current DC United player, Rob Vincent chimed in with his thoughts on Parkes’ meltdown.

We’ll have more coverage on Saturday’s outcome which saw the Hounds (0-3-3, 3 pts) drop their third home game of the season, with PGHvNYRBII takeaways onSunday morning.
