@Pitt_MSoc Shutout By St. Mary's, 1-0

The Pitt men’s soccer team (2-7-2) dropped a 1-0 decision to non-conference foe Saint Mary’s (CA) (4-5-3) Monday, Oct. 3 at Ambrose Urbanic Field in the Petersen Sports Complex.

 

In a back-and-forth first half, shots were an even 5-5 while Pitt had a 3-1 advantage in corners. The second half saw seven shots from Pitt with four corners. Both teams registered six total shots on goal.

 

The Gaels netted the lone goal in the 73rd minute. SMC’s Stephen Dougherty took a corner that found the head of Jake Rudel who sent it over redshirt freshman goalkeeper Mikal Outcalt in the top left corner.

 

Outcalt made five saves on the night.

 

Pitt returns to action Friday, Oct. 7 as it hosts Boston College for Alumni Night at 7 p.m.

Krysinsky also served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Point Park University, where he led the Pioneers to the first-ever winning seasons and playoff berths (1996-98); head coach of North Catholic boys (2007-08), associate head coach of Shady Side Academy boys (2009-2014).
