@Pitt_MSOC Earns Draw Vs #16 UVA in Final Home Game #PGHSoccer

In its final home game of the season, the Pitt men’s soccer team (2-11-3, 0-5-3 ACC) played to a scoreless double overtime draw with No. 16 Virginia (8-2-5, 2-2-3 ACC).

The Panthers held their own against the nationally ranked squad, attempting five total shots while the Cavaliers took nine. It was a quiet night for redshirt freshman goalkeeper Mikal Outcalt as he made just four saves on the night. Virginia attempted three shots on frame in the second half, while the other shot on goal came in the second overtime.

Junior Roosevelt Angulo registered two shots that were arguably the best scoring chances for Pitt through the 110 minutes. Angulo’s first shot was taken early on in the fourth minute as he received a ball from fellow junior Raj Kahlon. Angulo’s shot was sent just wide of the post. He fired another shot from the middle of the box in the 90th minute, again from Kahlon. Kahlon crossed the ball from the left side into the box as Angulo anticipated the pass and attempted to send it in but once again was wide of the post.

Pitt resumes action Friday, Oct. 28, as the team travels to Blacksburg, Va., for its final regular season game against Virginia Tech at 7 p.m.
