PIAA 1st Round Boys/Girls Soccer Scoreboard #WPIAL

All first-round games are being played tonight — Election Night!   ALL SCORES ARE IN.
The WPIAL teams fared very well, with 10 of the 12 boys teams playing advancing (and one – Pine-Richland lost to section rivals North Allegheny) and 8 of 11 WPIAL girls teams moved on as well (Norwin beat Fox Chapel).
All winners will advance to the Quarterfinals, to be played on Saturday, November 12.  There will be a few all-WPIAL match-ups including a rematch of the Girls 4A WPIAL Final between Norwin and Canon-McMillan.   The times and locations of Saturday’s games will likely be announced later on Wednesday or Thursday.
Games listed below are only those involving WPIAL teams.

John Krysinsky has covered soccer and other sports for many years for various publications and media outlets including Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, DK Pittsburgh Sports, Pittsburgh Sports Report, and more. Krysinsky also served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Point Park University, where he led the Pioneers to the first-ever winning seasons and playoff berths (1996-98); head coach of North Catholic boys (2007-08), associate head coach of Shady Side Academy boys (2009-2014).
