Riverhounds Re-sign Parkes, Give Jamaican Forward 2nd Chance

Romeo-Parkes-4
Boy, the past few years, it seems like we can count on things getting very, very interesting at Highmark Stadium and around the Pittsburgh Riverhounds when May arrives.
No exception this year with today’s breaking news.
Almost a year to the day his contract was terminated, the Riverhounds announced that they’ve re-signed Jamaican forward Romeo Parkes, who was banned from USL and subsequently FIFA, for an egregious kick from behind of New York Red Bulls II’s Karl Ouimette, after being sent off in a match on May 7, 2016.

Here was Parkes’ tweet earlier today:

Shallenberger confirmed to DKPittsburghSports.com that he and Brandt met face to face with Parkes and felt convinced his behavior wouldn’t be an issue.
I will have more on this in the coming days with DK Pittsburgh Sports/Pgh Soccer Report.
The Riverhounds (3-3-2, 11 points) are currently in 4th place in the USL’s Eastern Conference and are on a 10-day break between games after Wednesday night’s 1-0 win over Toronto FC II.
