I had a chance to catch up with the Riverhounds on Thursday — taking in some of the training session and speaking with Head Coach Dave Brandt and goalkeeper Trey Mitchell afterwards.
The Hounds (4-5-4, 16 points) head into a six day stretch against two teams near the top of the USL’s Eastern Conference.
Brandt acknowledged these are big games, and anything from six to four points by the end of next week could catapult the Hounds into a better position in the table and take away results against two of the top teams in the league.
They cannot afford two losses, as they’re trending downward in the standings as they’re on a four game winless streak (0-2-2) — currently 11th but tied with four other teams that have 16 points.
You can find my complete report (With ‘big test’ ahead, Hounds aim to make move in East) including news on who the new starting center back will be on Saturday along with Brandt and Mitchell’s takes heading into the encounter with Louisville City (Saturday, 7:30 p.m. – Slugger Field) — on DK Pittsburgh Sports website.
Also, you can follow the action on the DK Pittsburgh Sports Louisville City-Pittsburgh live file, that included game preview/notes and link to live broadcast.
Saturday’s game will also be broadcast live on Pittsburgh CW.
