While the Riverhounds suffered its worst defeat of the season on Saturday night at Louisville, 3-0, both the Fort Pitt Regiment and Steel City FC were in action this past weekend as well.
As it turns out, all three teams will be in action at Highmark Stadium this week.
Steel City FC have already played at Highmark on Sunday, defeating Alliance Academy 5-0, to improve its record to 3-2 overall.
Fort Pitt Regiment traveled to upstate New York, where they took on FC Buffalo.
The Blitzers got on the board early when Akean Shackleford (Indian Hills CC/Savannah La Mar, Jamaica) drew a penalty kick, and FCB captain Chris Walter (Hartwick College/Buffalo, N.Y.) got the FPR goalkeeper going the wrong way to make it 1-0.
That was the score at halftime, and FCB added some insurance when Jake Cooper (Robert Morris University/Whitby, Ontario) sent a gorgeous diagonal ball onto the path of Julien Dragomir (MSU Billings/Scottsdale, Arizona) for a headed finish.
The Regiment will have a busy week coming up. They will host a return match vs Erie, then have a home-and-home series this weekend on Friday and Sunday against a very strong AFC Cleveland side.
