Hounds fail to put away Rhinos, concede equalizer in 90th minute

Through 89 minutes, the Riverhounds were poised earn its first win against the Rochester Rhinos since 2014, after taking the lead on a Kevin Kerr‘s second half goal at Highmark Stadium on Saturday.

Instead, Rochester found the equalizer in the 90th minute as Joe Farrell‘s header from a pinpoint cross from Christiano Francois ended the match, 1-1, and in disappointment for the Hounds, who are fighting for one of the final playoff spots in the USL’s Eastern Conference.

“It was a bit of a chess match. A win would have been a super result for us,” Dave Brandt, Riverhounds Head Coach, said. “Against Rochester, it’s fighting, and hanging in there, and getting the goal. And then, closing it out. We were close, but close doesn’t count.”
