Point Park women shut out Shawnee St. (OH)

Point Park University women’s soccer earned a 2-0 shutout over Shawnee State (Ohio) University in its final pre-conference tuneup on Saturday night. The Pioneers have now won two games in a row entering River States Conference play next week. 

Point Park scored a goal late in each half for the victory. Tia Horew gave the Pioneers a 1-0 lead with a goal with 17 seconds left in the first half. It was her first career goal, and it came in her college debut. 

The Pioneers had 10 shots in each half and held a 20-8 advantage in shots for the game. Point Park had 13 of its shot come on goal, including Tatum Fabian‘s goal that put the game away in the 90th minute. 

Point Park posted its second shutout in a row and allowed just four shots on goal by Shawnee State (2-4-1). Three of those came in the first half. Goalkeeper Ashtyn Webb stopped all four of those shots for the game.
