Duquesne men’s soccer spring schedule has been released

Duquesne men’s soccer team will open the 2020-21 season on Sat., Mar. 13 at St. Bonaventure as part of a condensed regional Atlantic 10 schedule that was announced last week.

The Dukes will play six games in a five-week, March-April span with two games each against the Bonnies, Dayton and Saint Louis.

The home opener is set for Wed., Mar. 17 against Dayton, with Saint Louis set to visit Rooney Field on Sat., Mar. 20. DU will conclude a stretch of three consecutive home matches when St. Bonaventure visits on Sat., Mar. 27.

Duquesne will conclude the regular-season schedule with trips to Dayton (Sat., Apr. 3) and Saint Louis (Sat., Apr. 10).

The 2020-21 Atlantic 10 Men’s Soccer Championship has been reformatted to a four-team event scheduled for April 15-17 at a site to be determined.

In addition, we learned today that Duquesne will take on Pitt for the first time in a regular season match since 2013. That match will take place on February 27, at Ambrose Urbanic Field on Pitt’s campus.

All dates and opponents are subject to change. Match times are to be announced.

John Krysinsky has covered soccer and other sports for many years for various publications and media outlets. He is also author of 'Miracle on the Mon' -- a book about the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, which chronicles the club, particularly the early years of Highmark Stadium with the narrative leading up to and centered around a remarkable match that helped provide a spark for the franchise. John has covered sports for Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, DK Pittsburgh Sports, Pittsburgh Sports Report, has served as color commentator on Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC broadcasts, and worked with OPTA Stats and broadcast teams for US Open Cup and International Champions Cup matches held in the US. Krysinsky also served as the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at his alma mater, Point Park University, where he led the Pioneers to the first-ever winning seasons and playoff berths (1996-98); head coach of North Catholic boys (2007-08), associate head coach of Shady Side Academy boys (2009-2014).
