#3 Duquesne vs #6 George Washington

Duquesne (11-5-3, 7-2-1, 22 points) looks to defend their Atlantic 10 Conference championship as they open tournament play on Thursday afternoon against George Washington (10-6-3, 4-3-3 15 points).
The #3 seed Dukes and #6 seed Colonials kickoff at 2:00 p.m. at the URI Soccer Complex in Kingston, R.I.
Duquesne have George Washington have played 17 times, with the Colonials holding an 8-7-2 advantage. The last match between the two schools was Nov. 20, 2013 when they played to a scoreless draw.
DUQUESNE IN THE ATLANTIC 10 CHAMPIONSHIP
Prior to last year’s run, Duquesne lost in the opening round in each of their first four appearances in the A-10 Championship (2005, 2007, 2008, 2010).
Last season, the Dukes advanced for the first time after tying Dayton 1-1, then outscoring them on penalty kicks 3-2. Duquesne went on to defeat La Salle 2-1 in the semifinals and Fordham 2-0 to earn their first league title and NCAA Championship appearance.
