Riverhounds Announce Preseason Slate

While we still await the full regular season schedule, today the Pittsburgh Riverhounds have announced their 2017 preseason schedule.
Comprised of seven matches total, the Hounds will play four games in the Pittsburgh area, including two at Highmark Stadium.

The preseason slate will not only provide us with a glimpse of the current Hounds, but also two of the area’s three NCAA Division I teams, University of Pittsburgh under the guidance of Jay Vidovich, and Duquesne University coached by Chase Brooks.
The club’s road dates will include something that was missing a year ago — competition against pro sides, including NASL side North Carolina FC (formerly the Carolina Railhawks) and Eastern Conference foe Rochester Rhinos.
The other road dates will include a trip down tobacco road.  In addition to playing North Carolina FC, the Hounds will take on one of Pitt’s ACC foes, Duke.
Matches located at Highmark Stadium and the Allegheny Health Network Sports Complex at Cool Springs are free to attend for the public.
Announced last week by the USL, the Hounds will kick off their 2017 campaign at home against the defending champions, New York Red Bulls II on Saturday, March 25.
Here’s the full preseason schedule:

February 18 – at North Carolina FC – 1 p.m. – WakeMed Soccer Park (Cary, NC)
February 19 – at Duke University – 11 a.m. – Athletic Field Complex (Durham, NC)
February 25 – University of Akron – 1 p.m. – Highmark Stadium
February 26 – Duquesne University – 8 a.m. – AHN Sports Complex (Bethel Park, PA)
March 4 – at University of Pittsburgh – 1 p.m. – Ambrose Urbanic Field (Pittsburgh)
March 5 – University of Charleston – 1 p.m. – Highmark Stadium
March 13 – at Rochester Rhinos – 3 p.m. – Rhinos Stadium (Rochester, NY)
