No Go For @pghriverhounds-@DuqMSoccer; Fan Fest Still On For Sunday

dukesWith a scrimmage this week coming up against Pitt, Duquesne Dukes Men’s soccer coach Chase Brooks decided one match this coming weekend was enough.

“After speaking with Chase, we thought it the best course of action to cancel Sunday’s match,” said head coach Dave Brandt, through a team release sent on Wednesday.
“They’ll have a match this Friday and with already a thin spring roster, the timing wasn’t working for them.
And for us, I think we’re comfortable in switching around our schedule to make sure we are best prepared for the season opener next Saturday.”

The Riverhounds, who took a 5-1 loss in its last preseason friendly on Monday at Rochester Rhinos, have big plans for Sunday at Highmark Stadium — and that won’t change.
As of now, though, it appears that the Hounds have played its last public scrimmage of the preseason.  The Hounds open the season on Saturday, March 25 at home against USL defending champions, New York Red Bulls II.

The team’s schedule Fan Fest will still go on.   In fact, the Hounds are now opening the gates for free for all customers — and will host a Watch Party for the Manchester United-Liverpool match in the Pub.
Following the conclusion of the match, attendees will be invited upstairs to the Club Level to partake in the originally scheduled events of Fan Fest, including the 2017 kit reveal and a player meet and greet.
