“I’m very pleased with compete level and our willingness to battle on every level,” Duquesne women’s soccer coach Al Alvine said. “We’ve got a lot of new faces that are really starting to find their feet and contribute, so it’s been fun to watch them grow and connect with our returners.”

Duquesne did start four freshman in the match in Alex Saturni, Hannah Nguyen, Kayla Winicki and Sarah Wilkinson. Of the four, Nguyen is the lone Pennsylvania representative hailing from Irwin, PA and coming from Penn Trafford High School.

The contest which was scheduled to start at 5 p.m. was delayed 55 minutes due to lightning.
