RICHMOND, Ind. — Point Park University men’s soccer lost, 1-0, on Thursday night at IU East. The Red Wolves’ Dumi Kumwenda scored on a penalty kick in the 41st minute for the only goal of the game.

The Pioneers (9-5-1, 5-3-1 RSC) had their five-game unbeaten streak stopped. They had won four in a row before matching up against IU East (8-9, 4-4 RSC), which extended its own winning streak to five in a row.

Point Park had few chances with just six shots and only one on goal, which came in the second half. IU East put together 15 shots with six on target.

For Point Park, all three of its conference losses have come by a score of 1-0. The tie was 1-1 (2OT) versus WVU Tech, a game in which the Pioneers found the equalizer late in regulation.

Point Park has one more game in the regular season, which is Oct. 31 at home versus non-conference Washington Adventist (5:00 p.m.). The Pioneers are assured an RSC playoff spot, and they will learn their seeding and first-round matchup when all conference games are completed this weekend.
