As promised, twenty years to the day after the first game in Pittsburgh Riverhounds history, we have digitized edition of the majority of the A-League match between the Riverhounds and Cincinnati River Hawks on May 1, 1999 at Bethel Park Stadium.
Enjoy!
The Hounds battled Cincinnati to a 2-2 draw in regulation. The team took part in a shootout (MLS style that was used back then) — with the River Hawks prevailing. The video does get cut off at the very end of the shootout when Hounds’ Ed Childs steps up for his turn in the shootout.
