For the second time this season, Duquesne men’s soccer freshman Nate Dragisich was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week.

As a team Duquesne went 1-1 this week falling 2-1 at Liberty and beating St. Bonaventure 4-0.

Dragisich scored the game-winning goal against the Bonnies in the fourth minute, good for his second score of the season.

That would not be the end of Dragisich’s output for the contest, as he went the give-and-go route to sophomore Manel Busquets who scored in the 29th minute.

Dragisich’s three-point game included six shots, two of which were on goal. He was able to achieve all of this despite playing out of position.

In addition to the award itself, Dragisich joins a short list, which now contains four Duquesne names of rookies to win the award on multiple occasions. The most recent was Simon Gomez who won three times in 2010. Also on that list is Terry McNelis (five times in 1999) and Zach Varga four times, 2003).

Following this week, Dragisich has a team-leading four assists in addition to the aforementioned two goals. This honor brings Duquesne to six on the season, with the program-record being eight which was set in 2003.

Duquesne currently sits at 7-3-1 on the season and will face George Washington Saturday night. If Duquesne is able to win, it will match its 2016 mark in both wins and home field wins with six.
