Incoming Pitt women’s soccer player Chantelle Parker has been selected to Jamaica’s National Team for the upcoming 2020 CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship, which starts on Feb. 22 and is hosted in the Dominican Republic. Attending a recent camp to earn selection to the “Reggae Girlz”, the forward heads back down for another camp from Feb. 16-20 for preparation for the tournament.

The CONCACAF Women’s U-20 Championship consists of four pools of four nations along with four other countries already advanced to the knockout stage. Jamaica is in Group E along with Canada, Gautemala and El Salvador. The Reggae Girlz open group play with Guatemala (Feb. 22) followed by El Salvador (Feb. 24) and Canada (Feb. 26) with each game contested in Estadio Panamericano in San Cristóbal.

Parker is part of an eight-member 2020 recruiting class with Nyla Allen, Ione Fetsko, Eva Frankovic, Hannah Kynch, Chloe Minas, Emily Yaple and Zaria Stevenson. Frankovic, Minas, Yaple and transfer Hailey Davidson (Oklahoma) are already on campus as spring semester enrollees.
