A year ago, Greensburg Central Catholic and Winchester Thurston battled four times. The WPIAL Boys Class 1A section rivals split the regular season series, then GCC won the WPIAL title at Highmark Stadium. Winchester returned the favor with a win in the PIAA playoffs.
They were back at it again on Tuesday night in Greensburg, and Pittsburgh Soccer Now‘s Ed Thompson was there to capture some of the action.
Winchester took a 1-0 lead in the first half, but the Centurions stormed back with three goals to take command of the contest, then holding on for the 3-2 win.
The teams will meet again on Monday at Winchester Thurston.
