WPIAL Girls Soccer Scores (9/29/2020): Fox Chapel beats North Allegheny, 2-1, to remain unbeaten

The WPIAL Girls Soccer schedule on Tuesday night was filled with numerous key section match-ups and some interesting non-section encounters too.

In one of the most intriguing match-ups of the evening, unbeaten Class 4A leaders Fox Chapel faced the defending WPIAL champions, North Allegheny in a battle that might help determine playoff seeding.

It was the third time this season North Allegheny faced off against top tier teams in Class 4A, previously beating Norwin and Pine-Richland. This time around, the Tigers couldn’t pull off the road win, losing to Fox Chapel, 2-1.

The Foxes were in command for large portions of the match, taking a 2-0 lead into the second half, but NA fought back when sophomore forward Allie Burns scored on a cross from freshman Abigail Stager. NA continued to pressure down the stretch but were unable to find the equalizer.

North Allegheny falls to 4-2 overall following the loss. Fox Chapel remains undefeated with a record of 6-0 after this statement win.

In addition, Ed Rosensteel was at South Park for a non-section clash, as the hosts scored early, then held off Brownsville to remain unbeaten and unscored upon in 2020.
