From ACC / University of Pittsburgh reports

Sophomore midfielder Veljko Petkovic was honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference today, receiving Offensive Player of the Week for his performances against Syracuse and Virginia Tech this past week.

The Nis, Serbia, native scored three goals and tallied an assist for the week and recorded a perfect shot on goal percentage (1.000%), with all five of his shots on goal.

Petkovic scored two goals against the Orange on Tuesday, Oct. 6, including the first score of the game in the 38th minute. He then scored the opening goal of the contest against the Hokies on Saturday, just two minutes and twenty seconds into the contest. Petkovic assisted classmate Valentin Noel for the fourth and final goal of the game against Virginia Tech, helping seal the victory for the second-ranked Panthers.

Petkovic is the third Panther to be honored by the ACC this season. Freshman Bertin Jacquesson and sophomore Aruturo Ordoñez were named Co-Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, on Sept. 28.
