WPIAL Boys Soccer Playoff Scoreboard (10/31/2020): Boys 4A & 1A Quarterfinal Round

Saturday brought the final eight WPIAL boys quarterfinal matches in Class 4A and 1A.

Among the teams moving on include:  4A – Peters Township, Fox Chapel, Norwin and Seneca Valley; 1A – Winchester Thurston, Sewickley Academy, Greensburg Central Catholic and Springdale.

In addition, we have Ed Thompson’s photo gallery from Norwin’s 4-1 win against North Allegheny.

Quarterfinal Round (Saturday, October 31)  

FINAL: Peters Twp 2, Baldwin 1, 2OT  

Golden Goal comes from Peters Twp’s Andrew Massucci!

FINAL: Fox Chapel 6, Upper St. Clair 0

David Merriman gets in on the action about 7 minutes into the second half and sneaks one past Dev Patel.

FINAL:  Seneca Valley 1,  Butler 0

FINAL: Norwin 4, North Allegheny 1

NA GOAL, 4-1 — Brendan Ash with a slow dribbler — off a rebound — and it trickles in to increase the Norwin lead to 4-1 over North Allegheny, 17:28 left at Knights Stadium.

NA GOAL, 3-1 — Caleb Yuricha one-times shot past new NA keeper Regan Racicot. His 2nd goal of the afternoon. Yuricha’s move from defender to striker has been pure gold for Knights. Norwin 3, North Allegheny 1, 34:45 2nd half.

Semifinal Round – Wednesday, November 4

  • Peters Twp/Baldwin winner vs Fox Chapel/USC winner
  • Seneca Valley/Butler winner vs Norwin/North Allegheny winner
