Pitt’s Amanda West Named to All-ACC Second Team

Pitt women’s soccer sophomore Amanda West was named to the All-ACC Second Team, the conference announced Friday. West becomes the first-ever Panther to be selected as high as the second team for the annual conference accolade, as last year she became the first in program history to ever earn an All-ACC honor by being picked to the third team.

West leads the nation in points (30), points per game (2.14), goals (13) and game-winning goals (four) and third in goals (0.929) per game, which is also first in the ACC. She was no slouch when it came to facing ACC opponents, tying for the league-lead in goals (six) and points (14) in conference-only games.

The forward broke school records all during the fall season. West opened the season with a program-best seven-game goal scoring streak. She became the school’s all-time leader in career points (59) and tied for career goals (23) when she set the single-season record for points (30) and goals (29), breaking both records she set and tied as a freshman.
