Riverhounds announce six game preseason schedule

from Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC report

Riverhounds SC has scheduled a six-game preseason slate in preparation for the 2021 USL Championship season, with the possibility of additional exhibition matches being added.

All preseason matches will be closed to the public, as the Hounds work in compliance with USL protocols related to Covid-19 and prepare to welcome fans for the start of the regular season in May. Riverhounds SC will open preseason camp on Monday, March 29.

The preseason schedule kicks off Thursday, April 1 at 3 p.m., when the Hounds will host NCAA Division II Gannon University at Highmark Stadium. They will remain at home Tuesday, April 6, for a 3 p.m. start against Detroit City FC, the fall champions of the National Independent Soccer Association, one of the third-division leagues in the U.S. Soccer pyramid.

The Hounds will go on the road to tune up against fellow USL Championship teams Louisville City FC (April 16, TBD) and Indy Eleven (April 24, 11 a.m.) before wrapping up the preseason at home against Philadelphia Union II on Saturday, May 1 at 2 p.m.

All preseason matches are subject to change as the Hounds continue to explore other possible preseason matches against teams from MLS, USL, or other leagues.
