Pitt women’s soccer sophomore Amanda West was selected to the United Soccer Coaches’ All-Atlantic Region First-Team, the organization announced Tuesday. Earning third-team honors last year, West becomes the first Panther to be named to an all-region first team.

West ranked as one of the nation’s top scorers in the 2020-21 season. She placed third in total points (33), fourth in goals (13), 10th in game-winning goals (four) and 25th in assists (seven). She broke the school’s single-season records for points and goals, both marks she set (points) and tied (goals) as a freshman.

The forward opened the fall with a program-best seven-game goal scoring streak. She became the school’s all-time leader in career points (59) and tied for career goals (23). Against competition from the best conference in the nation, she tied for the league-lead in goals (six) and points (14).

West didn’t miss a beat when the Panthers returned for two spring games. In a 4-1 win over Kentucky March 29, she recorded three assists for the second time in her career.
