Pittsburgh City United FC defeats Athletic United FC 6-0; claims top spot in division

Pittsburgh City United FC completed a successful weekend on Sunday, beating division opponent Athletic United of Maryland, 6-0, to claim the top spot in the UPSL Northeast Conference -Beltway, North Premier Division.

PCUFC now sit atop the division with 15 points (5-1), two points ahead of next Saturday’s opponent Inter Atlantic, who City United defeated 3-2 early  in the season.

Six different players saw the back of the net for PCUfc, with top performances from Ndayisenga Emmanuel (1 goal, 1 assist), Ramesses McGuinness (1 goal, 2 assists), and Marquis Flowers (1 goal, 1 assist). Emilio Maldonado, Matt Teitelbaum, and Ibrahim Kouyate also scored for Pittsburgh City United.

“We were strong in many areas of the pitch today, especially on defense with our backline coverage and ball movement,” -Michael Anton Monsour, Team Owner/Head Coach, said. “Offensively we continue to improve the quality of our chances around the box. I could not be more honored to have the opportunity to share the pitch every day with this incredible group of individuals. With all the adversity we continue to face, to be in this position halfway through the season in such a competitive division is quite remarkable.”
