Pittsburgh City United FC partners with English Club Sheffield City FC to Promote Concussion Safety and Provide Transfer Portal for Players

UPSL Playoff-bound Pittsburgh City United FC has partnered with Current English Division 5 promotion contenders, Sheffield City FC to spread awareness for Concussion Safety, as well as providing an avenue for City United players to transfer to the English Club as they compete for promotion into The fourth division of English soccer, known as EFL League 2.
“We continue to make great strides as an organization in our first season even under these difficult times. Establishing strong partnerships with European clubs that understand our foundational values and commitment to concussion safety, and the future health and well-being of our players is essential to our growth.
Ash Greenwood and the Sheffield City FC organization have never wavered in their support for the need for clubs to take stronger safety measures in regards to their player’s health, and it is a torch that we hope to see more clubs in Europe, as well as here in the United States carry in the near future.
The opportunity for our players to have potential European transfer destinations like Sheffield City FC, where their professional careers can continue to develop is incredibly important to our organization. Sheffield City FC owner Ash Greenwood and staff will be visiting Pittsburgh in January for a more formal press conference to discuss further steps in the partnership.
“As a club, Sheffield City FC was set up to give a new sense of hope and belief to individuals who wanted to either coach or play soccer. Our core value is fairness in football, and what we mean by this is regardless of age, sex, and ability everyone has a right to play soccer,” Greenwood said. “Both Sheffield City and Pittsburgh City United share the same ambition of wanting to make positive changes to people’s lives. This partnership will enforce the changes and also support that both Sheffield City and Pittsburgh City United wished to achieve and that is change and hope for people who wanted to be involved in soccer,”
Pittsburgh City United FC currently (6-2-2, 2nd in UPSL Beltway North) will be home this Saturday against Athletic United FC at UPMC Graham Field, 6:30 PM kickoff.
Sheffield City FC (4-1-0, 2nd place ) will play Warsborough Athletic this Saturday, with a chance at taking first place in the division with a game in hand.
