Preview

Seneca Valley begins its quest for back-to-back WPIAL titles as they’ll take on upstart Allderdice, who elminated Mt. Lebanon in a penalty kick shootout on Tuesday.

Peters Township, Section 2 champs and last year’s runner-up are also looking to get back to the WPIAL final, where they lost a classic to Seneca Valley last season.  They’ll have to face a tough challenge from a talented Butler squad.

Norwin is a team that enters the fray determined to return to the final for the first time since 2018, when they came up short against Seneca Valley.  The Knights open play at the Castle against North Allegheny.

Canon-McMillan rounds out the teams that had a first-round bye, and lo and behold they meet a familiar postseason foe, Fox Chapel, who are the only team to get a point against Seneca Valley this season (1-1 tie).
