The Riverhounds SC announced its preseason schedule on Wednesday, as the club will not stray too far as they prepare for the 2022 season, hosting six friendlies at Highmark Stadium and making its only trip across the Mon to take on the University of Pittsburgh.

Date Opponent Time
12-Feb Villanova University 11 a.m.
12-Feb West Chester United 3 p.m.
16-Feb Loudoun United 2 p.m.
19-Feb Pitt 1 p.m.

All preseason matches at Highmark Stadium will be open to fans, and admission is free.

The Hounds will host a mix of college and professional teams, beginning with a big Saturday of soccer on Feb. 12 as West Chester United of USL League Two and Villanova University come to town. The teams will play three shortened matches pitting the Hounds against Villanova at 11 a.m., Villanova against West Chester at 1 p.m. and the Hounds against West Chester at 3 p.m.

The preseason will continue with the Hounds testing themselves against three USL Championship teams they will face during the regular season — Loudoun United FC (Feb. 16), Indy Eleven (Feb. 22) and Louisville City FC (Feb. 26). The only road match this preseason will have the Hounds making the short trip across to Oakland on Feb. 19, as they will face Pitt at 1 p.m. at the Panthers’ Ambrose Urbanic Field.

Wrapping up the preseason will be a March 5 visit from West Virginia University, a 6 p.m. kickoff exactly one week before the Hounds begin the USL Championship season at Memphis 901 FC on March 12.
