Pittsburgh Soccer Now‘s Ed Thompson captured the sights of a beautiful spring night at Highmark Stadium Saturday, where the Riverhounds got back to their winning ways in USL Championship play with a decisive victory over Atlanta United 2.
Ed caught the action from start to finish, as the Hounds electrified the record regular-season crowd at Highmark with first half goals by former league MVP Dane Kelly and MLS veteran Luis Argudo, with the latter scoring his first in a Pittsburgh kit.
The Riverhounds survived a late push before halftime by Atlanta, which featured Upper St. Clair native and former Hound Robbie Mertz. They cemented their 5-1-1 record, and second place standing in the Eastern Conference table, in the second half, with a second goal from Kelly, and one off the bench from Russell Cicerone.
