Pittsburgh City United FC open spring season with 10-1 rout of Youngstown

City United started off the 2022 UPSL season with a strong performance, defeating UPSL Midwest Ohio Premier Division opponent, Youngstown Knighthawks, 10-1, at Lt JC Stone Field in Wexford on Saturday evening.
Forward Jonvier Ramson scored the first goal of the season in the 13th minute when midfielder Ibrahim Kayoute connected with Ramson on a deep pass as the 21-year-old forward sprinted past the center back driving his shot bottom right corner past the goalkeeper to make the score 1-0.
City United would add their second soon after In the 17th minute when midfielder Gabrial Dansu intercepted a pass in the offensive third and connected on a beautiful shot into the corner of the net making the score 2-0 early in the match.
City United was awarded a penalty in the 21st minute when left wing-back Marquis Flowers made a beautiful move on the ball to cut past the Youngstown defender causing the defender to make the foul.
Flowers would miss the penalty on a strong save by the Youngstown goalkeeper and the score would remain 2-0 until the 30th minute when the second year Captain redeemed himself for the miss by scoring his  first goal of the season when he connected on a volley to make the score 3-0.
In the 36th minute Flowers who would end up putting on a dominant performance from the Left Wing Back position throughout the match, scored his second goal of the match and third in 14 career matches for City United to make the score 4-0.
Ramson would score his second goal of the match in the 40th minute when he connected on a perfect corner by Flowers blasting a headgear-protected header into the corner making the score 5-0 in favor of City United.
In the 41st minute 19-year-old midfielder Isaac Hunter another new addition to the club scored his first career goal for City United.
Shortly after in the 42nd minute, City United went down to 10 players when Hunter received a red card, the half would end with the score 6-0 with City United down to 10 players
In the 49th minute, Ramson would open up the scoring when he connected on a cross to make the score 7-0 securing his first hat trick with City United.
City United would score again In the 60th minute when a cutting Kayoute scored on a cross from Ramson.
The Knighthawks would get one back in the 68th minute making the score 8-1.
In the 75th minute City United would score on another cross when Kayoute connected with Ramson to make the score 9-1.
Three minutes later, Ramson would score the final goal of the game, earning a rare second-half hat trick while playing against a player advantage as well as a club-record 5 goals while adding two assists on his way to being named the City United Full90 Man of the Match.
