Randy Waldrum added Oklahoma midfielder Keera Melenhorst to the 2022 roster Thursday afternoon.

Melenhorst transfers in as a sophomore and will be immediately eligible to play for the upcoming 2022 season.

An Ottawa, Ontario, Canada native, Melenhorst played in all 20 games last season for the Sooners, making 16 starts. She totaled 13 shots and five shots on goal while tallying two assists in 1,152 minutes played.

The Canadian has much success at the international level, appearing in multiple tournaments including the Danone Nations Cup in 2015 as one of just two girls competing in the tournament. She also competed for Team Ontario from 2017-19 and was named MVP at the Gatorade 5v5 Tournament in Barcelona as a member of the Canadian Team.

Prior to her arrival at Pitt, Melenhorst will compete for the Canadian U20 National Team in the U20 World Cup in Costa Rica in August.

A Nepean High School graduate, Melenhorst was named her school’s Athlete of the Year from 2017-19 and graduated in the top 10 percent of her class. She was also selected into the Canadian Youth National Ontario Regional Excel Program in 2018.

Melenhorst becomes the fifth Canadian on the Panther squad, joining Chantelle Parker, Leah Pais, Amanda West, Anna Bout and Chloe Minas.
