Photo Gallery & Reaction: Pine-Richland 1, Franklin Regional 0 (JRK Memorial Tournament)

Hosts of the JRK Memorial Tournament, Pine-Richland came into the new season with a roster that includes many key returning juniors and seniors, but on opening day, it was a sophomore, Finn Kichi, who delivered the lone goal to lead the Rams past Franklin Regional, 1-0, at Pine-Richland Stadium on late Saturday afternoon.

Kichi’s alert response to put back a loose ball in the box was the difference in a tight contest between 4A Pine-Richland and 3A Franklin Regional.

Pittsburgh Soccer Now‘s Matt Popchock was on hand to provide the Audio Broadcast and Jared Todhunter captured  images from the contest in Day 1 of the JRK Memorial Tournament.

Popchock caught up with both Kichi and P-R Head Coach Jordan Wiegand after the match (see interviews below).

Day 2 of the JRK Memorial Tournament will take place on Sunday.

Pine-Richland will face Penn-Trafford at 5 p.m. while Franklin Regional will turn around and look for a win against Moon Township, at Noon.
