WPIAL Girls Soccer: Moe Rosentsteel Most Outstanding Player award finalists announced

The Kaitlyn ‘Moe’ Rosensteel Scholarship Foundation announced the three finalists for the Moe Rosensteel Most Outstanding Player of the Year award on Wednesday.

The finalists are:

• Moon senior midfielder and Duquesne University commit Hailey Longwell
• North Allegheny senior forward and University of Pittsburgh commit Lucia Wells
• Mars senior forward and Indiana University commit Piper Coffield

The award is named for the late Kaitlyn “Moe” Rosensteel, a former Ringgold standout whose memory carries on through the foundation and an annual scholarship.

The finalists are three players who have already helped lead their schools to significant success in recent years, prior to 2022.

Now, as leaders, they all have their teams on the brink of another District title, as they’ll each be in action at Highmark Stadium this weekend.

This is the second time around for both Wells and Longwell as finalists, while Coffield, is a finalist for the first time.

• 2021 – Kelsey Salopek, Steel Valley
• 2020 – Sarah Schupansky, North Allegheny
• 2019 – Ellie Coffield, Mars
