WVU KEEPS ROLLING — WILL MEET BUCKEYES IN 2nd ROUND
Friday is the second meeting of the season between the Mountaineers and the Buckeyes. WVU earned a 2-1 win on Sept. 4, at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.
WVU advances to the tournament’s second round for the second straight season and the 11th time in program history. This weekend marks the second time in as many years the Mountaineers will play host to second-and third-round games since the NCAA adopted the current tournament format in 2011.
The Mountaineers opened the tournament with a 3-0 win over Northern Kentucky on Nov. 12, in Morgantown. It was the team’s 20th win of the year, a program single-season record. The Buckeyes defeated Dayton, 3-2, on Sunday, in Columbus, Ohio.
