About Us

Welcome to Pittsburgh Soccer Now.

This site is devoted to covering the world’s most popular sport — soccer — in the Greater Pittsburgh Area, which includes signature coverage of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of United Soccer League (USL), but also other soccer happenings in our region including everything from scholastic, college and international competitions.

John Krysinsky who founded Pittsburgh Soccer Report in 2015, has joined with Pittsburgh Sports Now network, which also includes Pittsburgh Hockey Now, to create this new site – Pittsburgh Soccer Now.

We are excited to provide this new venture for soccer fans of the Greater Pittsburgh region.

Our first formal addition is relatively new to the Pittsburgh soccer scene, Mark Goodman, but has been around the game and has covered Colorado Rapids. We will also be planning to have additional contributors who also are a part of the Pittsburgh Sports Now network. Also part of our team include Riverhounds SC’s play-by-play man Matt Gajtka who contributes a weekly ‘View from the Booth’ column during Hounds season, occasional game reports and Facebook Live broadcasts of Featured High School games.

Other regular contributors include Ed Thompson, Zac Weiss, Rachael McKriger, Ryan Kelly, Ed Rosensteel, Matt Popchock and Patrick McCarthy — plus Pittsburgh Sports Now’s Alan Saunders.
