Junior midfielder Veljko Petkovic was named Atlantic Coast Conference’s Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday afternoon.
Petkovic had a career night in No. 3 Pitt’s season-opening 7-0 shutout over Duquesne at home Thursday, Aug. 26. He recorded two goals and two assists for a career-high six points.
The Queens, N.Y., native also broke a single-game school record for fastest consecutive goals scored by the same player, scoring just one minute and eight seconds apart.

The ACC Player of the Week accolade is the second of his career, earning his first last season. Clemson goalkeeper George Marks was named Defensive Player of the Week.
