Hounds part ways with Robby Dambrot

Riverhounds SC has agreed to release defender Robby Dambrot from his contract, the team announced on Tuesday.

Later in the day, the Hounds’ opponent on Saturday, the Indy Eleven, announced that they’ve signed Dambrot through the end of the 2022 season.

Dambrot, who signed as a free agent with the Hounds prior to the start of the 2022 season, was part of the team’s opening-day starting lineup.

The former Pitt Panther defender made five appearances (three starts) with the Hounds and scored in the team’s 2-1 home-opening win March 19 against Hartford, but made his last start in April at Las Vegas, then his last appearance, for 20 minutes off the bench against El Paso, at home in May.

“We appreciate Robby’s hard work and professionalism during his time with our team. We want to thank him and wish him the best of luck as he continues his career,” Hounds head coach Bob Lilley said.

The Hounds’ next match is this Saturday, when they visit Indy Eleven for a 7 p.m. kickoff in Indianapolis.
