Riverhounds SC players, goalkeeper Jahmali Waite and defender/midfielder DZ Harmon, were selected by their respective national teams for matches in the international window beginning this weekend.

It is the third time this season that Waite has been called into action for Jamaica, including being on the team’s roster during this summer’s Concacaf Gold Cup, his first major international tournament. He earned his fifth appearance for the Reggae Boyz at the Gold Cup when he started the team’s final group stage match against St. Kitts & Nevis.

Waite is joined on the roster by the same two goalkeepers he accompanied to the Gold Cup — veteran Andre Blake of the Philadelphia Union and 20-year-old Coniah Boyce-Clark, who plays for Reading in England. Jamaica will begin their Concacaf Nations’ League campaign with two home games, hosting Honduras on Friday, Sept. 8 and Haiti on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at the National Stadium in Kingston, Jamaica.

Harmon, meanwhile, has a chance to make his international debut for Liberia after being selected to the team’s 23-man roster.

The Lone Stars have two away matches upcoming, the first of which is their final match in African Cup of Nations qualifying against Morocco on Saturday, Sept. 9 in Agadir, Morocco. Liberia is then scheduled to face Ghana in a Tuesday, Sept. 12 friendly in the Ghanaian capital, Accra.

Both players will be unavailable for the Hounds’ next match, when they host Loudoun United FC on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. at Highmark Stadium.
