The Pittsburgh soccer calendar fills up fast this week!

Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC are in the midst of a three-match in a week stretch following a successful Saturday trip to Sacramento with a visit to Hamtramck, Michigan, to face Detroit City FC in a match with postseason implications, then return home to face San Antonio FC on Saturday.

Look for more to come on the Hounds match-up vs Detroit, plus we have our latest Takeaways/Player Grades up from the late Saturday night match in Sacramento.

Takeaways and Player Grades: Riverhounds bend but don’t break in win at Sacramento

There’s a of excitement on college campuses as the first week of August brings the start of the collegiate soccer preseason, as the Division I women’s programs kicked off with their training sessions last week, and their male counterparts are joining them this week.

In fact, Pitt women already took part in a preseason scrimmage, as they took the one-hour-plus ride down to Morgantown, to get a run in against WVU.

Below we have the full exhibition schedule along with the season openers for each of Pittsburgh’s six Division I soccer programs.

Also, in the offseason, we did have exclusive interviews on the Sounding Off on Soccer Podcast with three of the six coaches, Robert Morris’ Michelle Rick and Jonathan Potter, plus Pitt’s Randy Waldrum.  Look for more features to come as we look forward to covering another season of the college soccer scene.
