PSN’s Boys Class 4A Tournament Outlook

Look for more detailed outlook to come ahead of Saturday’s quarterfinal round to be more inclusive of the top four seeds, but Tuesday’s First Round features a handful of teams more than capable of reaching the WPIAL Final.

In recent Coaches Corner feature, some Class 4A coaches provided insights on which teams they thought might be a sleeper, that could make a run to the WPIAL Final and possibly win the District title.  And why not?  In recent years, we’ve seen a No. 8 seed then a No. 6 seed win the tournament (Pine-Richland in 2022 and Norwin in 2023) in back-to-back years.

As one coach shared: “The 3rd place team in each section is very good and can absolutely make a run to win a championship.”

Another selected North Allegheny, adding: “But, I wouldn’t call them sleepers.

A few others included:

“Mt. Lebanon — can play with any team in the classification”

“Norwin – Athletic and peaking at the right time”
