WPIAL / PIAA Girls Soccer Daily Report (Oct 19): Monday schedule includes a final section races to be decided

With just two days to go until the WPIAL official playoff brackets are revealed on Wednesday, the regular season comes down to a final stretch tonight! While the vast majority of postseason spots across the district are locked in, a few crucial section finishes and final bubble battles will be decided today.

Among the big matches being played includes the showdown in Class 2A, Section 2, between last year’s WPIAL finalists Freeport and Burrell.  And to no one’s surprise, the teams played to a stalemate in their first match this season, with Monday’s contest being for the Section title and inside track to a higher seed in the upcoming playoffs.  We’ll also be keeping an eye on a few other matches, to see how things shake out for the final playoff spots in the WPIAL tournaments.
