WPIAL Boys Soccer Scores (10/15/2020): Peters takes ‘Big South’ section crown

It’s a mostly light night of boys action, except for some section games that need to be made up and a full three game slate in Class 4A, Section 2 a.k.a. “The Big South”.

Peters Township boys put the bow on an impressive regular season with a 4-1 triumph over Canon-McMillan to give them a section title in the always fiercely competitive section of teams from the Southern suburbs and Washington County.

With the win, Peters (now 9-1-1 in section, 10-1-1 overall) is guaranteed to finish atop the section with one game remaining (at Brashear), while Canon-Mac drops to 6-4-1.  Upper St. Clair (7-4-1) barely remains in second place despite its 2-1 loss to Mt. Lebanon (4-5-1) on Thursday. Baldwin (now 6-5-1) secured its hold on fourth place in the race for the section’s final playoff spot in the section with a 3-1 win vs Bethel Park.
