As the new season is set to begin, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC goalkeeper will have to wait another week to get his second season going with his club, as he’s been called up to represent his home nation, Jamaica, in two upcoming international friendlies on March 11 and March 14.

This is the second call-up for Waite, who was on the roster when Jamaica faced eventual World Cup champions Argentina in New Jersey last September.

The Hounds are scheduled to face Birmingham Legion FC, in a playoff rematch on Saturday night at Protective Stadium. Waite dazzled in making key saves in the second half, extra time and in a penalty kick shootout in that match, which the Hounds advance to the USL Championship’s Eastern Conference semifinals.
