Danny Earls brought his passion and love of soccer every time he stepped foot on the pitch when he played for Riverhounds SC, from 2014 to 2017.
Earls’ hard-nosed approach to every play made him one of the most popular players among Hounds fans. The native of Wicklow, Ireland had a nine-year professional career in the states with the Rochester Rhinos, Colorado Rapids and the Riverhounds.
The retired midfielder, now 33, has since gone on to develop a budding career as an artist.
Back in 2020, Pittsburgh Soccer Now featured Earls in our One-on-One series.
PSN One-on-One: Catching up with former Riverhounds midfielder Danny Earls
At that time, a few years after returning to Ireland, Earls began to use his artistic talents to stay involved in the game.
His work was so good, that numerous clients, including ABC, Disney, Major League Soccer and Football Association of Ireland began to use his work.
Shortly after PSN’s One-on-One interview in March 2020, we had an additional pleasant surprise in store to share.
Pittsburgh soccer fans would be treated to Earls’ artistic talents, when he came up with the stunning cover design for my book, Miracle on the Mon.
It was very appropriate it was Earls who created the cover of the book that tells the story of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC organization which found a spark of hope in a miracle, come-from-behind victory which he played a big role.
You can view samples of Earls work on his social media accounts.
Among his most prominent works include Hellfire being published by Rogue Comics.
While Earls has been doing marvelous work in recent years, he reached a new plateau recently.
In February, he tweeted “Absolutely delighted to have just handed in my first short story for @marvel – can’t wait for people to see it”
So excited to be able to share my first piece of Marvel news!!!😁

As if that wasn’t enough, then he tweeted: “Absolutely can’t wait to announce this! Its a childhood dream come true to work for @dcofficial and this character!”
Stunned by this endorsement!!!

The Marvel and DC Comics’ story assignments absolutely speak to the power of Danny’s work.
We can’t wait to see what’s next for the former Riverhound.
