On Monday, the brackets for the NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament were released, with Pitt earning a spot in the same region with ACC rivals No. 1 Florida State and No. 3 Notre Dame.

The Panthers will open the tournament hosting Ohio State, on Saturday, at Ambrose Urbanic Field, with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

The tournament will feature 64 teams — and there are a lots of Western PA-based players who will be part of it.

Thanks to our colleague, Ed Rosensteel, we’ve assembled this list of all of the players on teams in the field.

Here in Pittsburgh, we’re pretty familiar with the Pitt players and their contributions.

Already as a freshman, Piper Coffield (Mars) earned a spot on the Big 10 Conference all-Freshman team and the Big 10 tournament team this season.  Coffield has scored two goals and added three assists in her first collegiate campaign.

The Hoosiers will open the tournament on Friday night, facing Atlantic 10 powerhouse Saint Louis.

Mt. Lebanon’s Mia Bhuta made her debut with No 2 Stanford, who enter the tournament as the Pac 12 champions, completing an unbeaten (15-0-4) regular season.

This season, as a freshman, and Bhuta started 18 of 19 matches, and has been a key addition to the Cardinal, as defensive midfielder, playing nearly 1,600 minutes.

Below is the full list of players from Western PA who will be playing in the NCAA Women’s Soccer National Tournament.
