Riverhounds announce local broadcast partners KDKA+ and SportsNet Pittsburgh for 2024 regular season

Riverhounds SC announces all 34 of its regular-season games aired live in the Pittsburgh market in 2024, with broadcast partner KDKA+ set to air most of its matches and new local partner SportsNet Pittsburgh showing an additional eight matches.

This will be the first time that every game of the Riverhounds season will be shown over the air, with 22 matches on KDKA+, eight on SportsNet Pittsburgh and another four being shown nationally on CBS Sports Network and ESPN2.

KDKA+, which became the team’s local broadcast partner in 2023, will show 15 home matches and seven away matches, beginning with the Saturday’s USL Championship opener at 4 p.m. against New Mexico United. In addition to the live game broadcasts, fans will see interviews and be able to catch highlights during newscasts on KDKA, and matches will be streamed live for the local audience on KDKA’s website.

“Like all of our sports teams in Pittsburgh, the Riverhounds are deeply connected to our community with a very loyal, passionate and ever-growing fan base,” said Chris Cotugno, president and general manager of KDKA-TV and Pittsburgh’s KDKA+. “As part of our mission to deliver the best local content our Pittsburgh community wants to see, we are excited to renew our partnership with the Riverhounds and continue to bring professional soccer to Pittsburgh’s KDKA+.”

SportsNet Pittsburgh, which came to the Pittsburgh market last year under the ownership of Fenway Sports Group, joins the Hounds broadcast family for the first time. In addition to the eight live matches, SportsNet Pittsburgh will re-air select matches, and their live broadcasts begin with a choice road matchup pitting the Hounds against rival Louisville City FC at 4 p.m. Saturday, March 23.

“We’re thrilled to continue our excellent partnership we began last year with KDKA, bringing live games and coverage of the team to their viewers in Pittsburgh. The addition of SportsNet Pittsburgh as a broadcast partner will enhance our team’s coverage, and we’re most excited that our fans in the Pittsburgh market will be able to watch every match live on television,” Riverhounds president Jeff Garner said.

In addition to the television coverage, every Riverhounds match this season will be streamed online, including five that will stream for free on the CBS Sports Golazo Network. The remainder of the Hounds’ USL Championship matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
